Ugh. Got sucked into Tumblr. Not good. Also, yeah, uni has been pretty much eating my soul for the past 9 months.

There's a fair few new things going on now. I'm now the head of the Lampeter cell of Historia Normannis, a Norman re-enactment group and President of the uni side of the society, which is much less fun times than just being the lady/knight of the group, let me tell you.

And I'll probably be able to dig up a picture or two of me if I can find one. Did a fairly good job of being unphotogenic enough for people not to take many of me.

Before that show, I went to a Viking Society (yeeeah, more re-enactment!!) show for St Patrick's Day in Swords, which is in the Dublin area. I have rather more pictures of me in that to put up.

So that's also going to be my summer, shows with Normannis, (although not exclusively Normannis shows because that was Whittington and apparently english Heritage gave the Magna Carta show to a viking group o.O), and I'll try to get pictures then too.

Busy, busy. Still packing, so I should probably get more leisure time in while I can. Training session at one!

But, oh man, been spending most of my updates on Tumblr though, sorry about that. I do still check back here though regularly. I ought to post the links to my Avengers/Superfamily fics actually, so I'll probably do that withint the next couple of days.

Other news, I am starting an English course at University of Wales Trinity-St David and will be moving down to the Lampeter campus next Sunday. Tres nervous. Going to be super far away from all of my friends and family here, although there will still be some familiar faces when I go down there.

Th other half has started his teacher training course already at Lincoln, so he's very busy with the course and sorting out paperwork. That's over two hours away from here as it is, so it's going to be even tougher when we're almost six hours apart. Having said that though, it was the same situation when I was at UCLAN, just leaving more people behind now 8[

Anyway, I'm sure it will be fine, lol - I'm all grown-up now, -koffkoff-, so I can manage XD;

sadfd Nostalgia much. And now I want to read them all over again and then probably the Serrated Edge books as well.

Ohmanohman. They had Hawkbrother-themed stuff, folks. It's lucky I am as good as broke, because daa-amn. I would gladly delve back into the series and start writing my fancharacters again and I don't care how Mary Sueish they are I need this like burning. Rest assured, I will sleep on this though XD I have been known to make bad calls based on nothing but nostalgia before.

I am now sort of sad, but not really, that I reappropriated the pictures of one set of fancharacters for New Territories, but that was when I thought I would be getting no use out them. I shall have to do some reimagining I'm sure if I do end up doing a bit more of them.

And yes, I realise I am probably part of a minority (in my age group at least siiigh) who will admit to like/have liked these books maybe, but I don't give a fuck anymore XD I like what I like GDI.

Just had a nice afternoon going down into town watching the Olympic Torch pass through. People were packed onto the pavements but we managed to get an unobscured view simply by virtue of arriving an hour beforehand. There were a few party buses going by, spewing loud music (and exhaust) as they went by XD

So humid though, ergh. Going to chill a bit before going off to Rogue Trader rp.

Just finished the latest in Lynn Flewelling's Nightrunners series of books.

Just... ♥

I don't think I've enjoyed a series of this sort this much since Robin Hobb's Farseer books. At some point I'm going to have to reread them all over again, for the fifth time, because they're just so enjoyable, you guys.

I can never decide whether my favourite is Seregil or Alec though, but I think that at this point it's a moot point because it's just odd to think of one without the other.

I can't lie - I adore assassin/thief-themed plots and characters with a passion and all the moreso if there's court intrigue involved. I have this thing about reading things with female leads that's... my issue really and usually nothing to do with the actual book ~~USUALLY~~, so if there's a male lead that doesn't sound totally lame then that's a definite plus (I have a soft spot for toughened, older leads too ~~coughFitzcough~~). And the other thing, ( which is spoilerful but )♥

I'm also in love with the fact that the books don't end on cliffhangers each time and they're self-contained to a degree; it's more like parallel-plot rather than sub-plot, Idk.

I also got a load of free ebooks for mah Kindle on Friday/Saturday with some that looked pretty good for self-publications. There's no harm in looking anyway and I even bought some others for under £1 each in the same vein. So, looking forward to some reading after a long, loooooong spell of reading almost nothing but fanfiction exclusively for a while. Well-written fic, sure, but just fanfiction all the same.

Tried to play some games as well. Making a little headway into Dissidia (the first) - finally finished Firion's path last weekend whilst taking a short break from playing cricket. I got that magnificent bastard who calls himself Emperor GDI.

I need to hook up my 360 again though - got a looot of JRPGs still to get through I'M LOOKING AT YOU LOST ODYSSEY/LAST REMNANT/INFINITE UNDISCOVERY ET AL

EDIT Also, as a sort of addendum on the subject of well-written fanfiction, there are some reeeeal nice Avengers, Loki/Thor pieces here by astolat, which is not a pairing I knew I needed (some dubcon issues aside) until I read Rend Mine Skin by salmon_pink

RL happened but hardly any of it comes into this journal, so I'll just leave it at that 8P

Got into some new fandoms though. I adore Natsume Yuujinchou OMGyes. Finished watching all four series in about as many days (including nights).

But where is the fandom?! There's a few fics I've bookmarked on AO3, but there're less than 200 fics in the entire category. Not even going to venture into the Pit though, unless there are some rare gems people can rec me.

Tytania, similarly has no fandom I can find, although this one seems more obscure than NY. I love the Tytania family though and even though I like Fan Hyulick as well, I couldn't really choose a side as such. I'm not complaining though, because I love when an anime has these kinds of characters. Finished this anime in a day almost XD; I'm sorry, but whilst 26 episodes is still a respectable amount, for someone who is used to Gintama and One Piece and their insane amount of episodes, it seems really short.

A couple of weeks ago, I also finished watching Heroic Age, which was quite a nice series in all, I thought. Very enjoyable and with very little romance (a genre I am veeeery picky about) to get in the way of the main plot.

Began watching Mirai Nikki as well. Holy fuck, bitch is crazy and really, that's as much as I can say on that matter. Watching it with P-chan, so holding off on viewing by myself and maybe also because I don't really want to watch it on my own anymore so it came as kind of a relief when he wanted to see it too XD;

Also, the webcomic teaser is just about done now:

Taking a break now to get the prologue and at least half of chapter one scripted out, not to mention for S to get some pages out in preparation.

So, back to rereading/watching Natsume Yuujinchou for the hundredth time, because apparently I can't get enough of it seriously and waiting to see if any of my prompts over on today's fic_promptly's entry are gonna get filled.

So, the webcomic is finally gaining some momentum. Spent a good chunk of yesterday getting some fonts for the first page of the teaser soon to be released and the past week posting all the random concept art I've done so far, including a really cool dinosaur-like steed thing, that S/Blue drew yesterday morning randomly on Livestream for it. She's coming over later this evening and hopefully we can get some more done, like the character page -thud- that so desperately needs to be done.

Anyway. If you're interested in Elves in Spaaace (as well as rogue A.I. plots and demon-like races etc), then please hop on over. The teaser should be out shortly, but for now, there's some stuff by me (mostly, at the moment) and Blue (who needs to be kicked to scan her stuff occasionally) up there. Rest assured, I am not the one drawing this, just writing X3

Tales of the Twin Moons

It's only on Tumblr at the moment, since I am broke-ass poor, but will hopefully expand to proper hosting as soon as these financial constraints let up.

I'm really enjoying doing whatever writing I'm doing for it at the moment (mostly just little bits of background), so there's hopefully going to be some good come out of this. There will be arcs within a bigger arc, but it's not looking like it's going to be jam-packed with confusing subplots all the time, mostly because, hey, we are aiming to get this out weekly, and in the end we can hopefully have it published and therefore readable.

In other news, I started Infinite Undiscovery again and actually got out of the horrible area outside the prison this time, unlike last time where I had to give up in disgust because of not being able to see the menu/prompt text.( cut for small rant about this )

Also I noticed how the dubbing was pretty terrible. After Lost Odyssey, (where I discovered the synching was done to match the English dub), and Last Remnant, it was really jarring and kind of put a whole downer on the triumph of passing that first little stage.

Meh.
